The Role
Overall good experience, but there were lots of faults.
Everyone I worked with was friendly and helpful, and I generally felt valued.
My line manager was extremely helpful in every way, but the entire experience was marred by complete apathy of both HR and the organisers of the internship to problems relating to pay and being on an incorrect tax code.
I could have had more to do; it was a fairly relaxed internship.
Not much, but it was a fairly short placement (8 weeks).
Any experience in the workplace is useful - especially in helping to shape decisions about future careers.
The Company
People were generally cheerful.
As mentioned before, the organisers of the internship didn't seem to put much effort into it. The team I went into had no idea what to do with me so I ended up doing day-to-day work with no overarching project. HR was also a nightmare with wrong payments, and the person who had been designated to be our contact in HR was ironically confrontational and unhelpful.
My line manager was really keen for me to get the most out of the experience, despite me clearly having been dumped on her last minute.

National Travel
I wouldn't work there: although everyone is friendly, there is an attitude of complacency and boredom.
The Culture
We had lunch together and went out a few times in the evenings, which was great.
Central London...
Again, Central London.
A few.
