The Role
The team I was working with were amazing! They all were really supportive and trusting me in to carry out tasks which would normally be carried out by more senior associates. I enjoyed this challenge as it motivated me to learn at a fast pace,
I felt I was really valued with my colleagues. I always had tasks to carry out, most of the time more than one task at the same time. That really helped me to work more efficiently and mange my time well. There were numerous occasions where I was trusted to carry out more senior tasks independently, which made me feel valued.
Throughout my internship I always had someone senior who I could approach about any issue I had. These included my buddy, counselor, team managers; in fact at EY I could approach anyone and they were willing to point me in the right direction. At no point did I feel I was not getting the right support to help me develop through my internship.
Most days I was juggling two or three tasks that needed to be completed.
On my first day I was assigned to a client walkthrough in understanding their business and controls. For someone with no experience and on day 1 this to me was a big responsibility. In the last week I was placed on a client all by myself to complete various tasks.

The Culture
Being in London the cost of living is very high. Despite this there are always cheap alternatives if you are willing to travel that tiny bit further.
There are plenty of activities going on outside of work. I was involved in basketball every Wednesday and also took part in Canary Wharf British Heart Foundation Jog with fellow interns.
