About You
The programme definitely exceeded my expectations, it was very helpful in discovering which division I would be most suited for in a friendly yet professional environment.
We had a lot of opportunities to have one-on-one time with the employees and all the presentations on different business areas were given by Directors.
If we had a question at any point of the programme, we always had the opportunity to ask someone. In addition to the representatives of different business areas, someone from HR was always in the room.
In terms of information it was extremely insightful, the programme reinforced my interest in banking and helped me realise which business area I am interested in. We also had an excellent session on how the read the FT.
The Company
The programme was very well-organised, we were always on schedule (which we received a few days before the insight) and we also had time for short breaks.
Everyone we met was very open and approachable, I enjoyed every session and we had a lot of interaction with employees.
We had two hours of work shadowing in the business area of our choice in groups of two, where we had the chance to ask all the questions we had. At the end of the programme we had a 30 minutes long interview, which was a great opportunity to practice. We also had many networking events to build relationships.
The work shadowing was definitely insightful and the role of an analyst was discussed in each presentation on the business areas.
I think the culture of a company is definitely something you can only understand if you spend some time there, so participating in the programme was really conducive.
Besides further developing my interest in banking the programme helped me decide which division I want to apply for.
Everything Else
Although I personally don't need reimbursement, everyone who does is reimbursed.
There were plenty of opportunities for networking, usually more than one every day.
We always had representatives from each division and everyone was very helpful. My favourite session was a Networking Quiz because it was a great way of getting to know everyone is a less formal setting.
Not really-this is because I was very much interested in their work and was trying to find out as much as I could in those few days. However, we did find out about a few activities, the ski trip IBD organised this winter for instance.
I would certainly recommend it to all my friends, I enjoyed my time at Citi and the application was definitely worth it!
