    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • This was a very useful insight into Deloitte; it helped me to understand what working within the different service lines would involve, and gave a good insight into the culture at Deloitte. The chance to talk with current employees at the evening meal was useful.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?

    • We were made to feel that the company would like us to apply for the summer vacation scheme, and given the opportunity to fast track for an interview.

    • Help was always available throughout the activities, and the atmosphere was open and friendly so that everyone felt able to ask for support if needed.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • The insight has improved my confidence, in particular in public speaking / giving presentations. Has also helped me with my career choice.

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?

    • Very well structured, there was a very tight schedule but neither day overran, and no time went to waste.

    • Good atmosphere; everyone seemed to settle in quickly and enjoy the two days.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

    • I felt that a lot of time was invested in us, various graduates and managers from the firm gave up their time for this event, and a couple of the office partners spoke to us.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?

    • This was the main benefit of the insight, especially in highlighting the differences between the experiences one would gain in the different service lines. Playing business games gives less of an understanding than work shadowing, but it was still a very beneficial insight.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?

    • The event gave a good sense of the company culture, far more than what could be gleaned from looking at the company website or speaking to a representative at a careers fair.

    • Very useful; I decided that I would like to apply to Deloitte next year, but I have changed my mind about which service line I would like to apply for!

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?

    • Hotel and travel paid for.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?

    • Many opportunities throughout the two days.

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?

    • During the evening meal it sometimes it felt like the current employees were being bombarded by questions, but it was a good opportunity overall and this was a result of the open and friendly atmosphere at the event.

    • Not much was said of this, although there were plenty of chances to ask such as at the networking event.
