About You
The insight was enjoyable as it kept everyone who attended busy, the structure also ensured that we all got to interact with each other in group work and team games at least once throughout the experience, this was brilliant for networking considering there was nearly 40 of us on the Birmingham Spring into Deloitte Scheme. It was also just as enjoyable to see what each service line does at Deloitte and gave experience of a typical day's work.
From Partners, service line employees and those running the course, they encouraged everyone to get involved and any queries were answered - everyone at the firm was approachable and their advice was honest, this helped to make the experience even more enjoyable.
We received several documents giving more detail as to what Deloitte do and throughout the group tasks employees would come around each group ensuring we were on task and doing the right thing - this also gave us a brilliant opportunity to network with these employees as they did so.
The insight made it much clearer as to what service line at Deloitte would be best for me based on which task I enjoyed most, this will help me now to pick relevant modules throughout my degree course as well as providing advice on the skills which need to be developed/Deloitte require for the interviewing stage/process.
The Company
Both days had a clear structure and were timed extremely well, we each got a copy of the powerpoint presentation so we knew what to expect. We got to spend time with employees from each service line and were given time to work through a typical task that represented the work that this service line typically engages in.
Overall the atmosphere was positive likely down to the fact that everyone appeared to enjoy being there and were engaged by each speaker that came to talk to the group - plus the top notch supply of Tea and Coffee kept everyone fully focused!
During the insight we had mock interviews and received feedback from actual Deloitte interviewers regarding our performance, although this was relatively short given the time constraint of it only being a 2 day insight.
The work we did with each service line gave us some insight into what that service line does/how it operates, however again this was obviously time constrained due to the nature of the insight. We did however receive literature giving more detail regarding each service line.
Being able to speak to people within the organisation at different levels of their career helped add depth to the insight and was interesting to see and hear their perspectives of the company - as well as receive their advice and talk to them about themselves. This gave as much insight into the culture as possible without physically working there
Overall working with the different service line made it easier to identify the career I want to get into, especially with the help of the literature we received from the insight as well, however it also was a bit of an eye-opener as to how competitive my chosen career path can be.

We had a dinner with a Deloitte employee on each table at the hotel provided by Deloitte overnight, these employees rotated around the tables to ensure variety.
Yes, from networking with the employees we had plenty of chances to receive an insight into outside activities held by the firm, however this wasn't really featured in the structure of the insight so make sure you ask!
Yes, due to the quality of advice and experience the insight offers.
