About You
I enjoyed the programme very much and I knew from the first hours spent at JPMorgan that this is the place where I want to work in a few years time. Everything was very well organised and meant to enhance our experience at and knowledge about the bank as much as possible. I was also pleasantly surprised to see that most of the employee giving overview presentations about their particular divisions were Seniors holding high positions at JP, which means they are willing to sacrifice some of their time to help with Juniors' development.
I always felt valued, and I always got help or clarifications whenever I asked for them. However, I think the huge number of candidates at Winning Women makes it a bit hard for each one of us to feel remarked during the week.
We were definitely guided and supported during every single activity we had by the HR team, Jessica, Hannah and Sian. They always made sure we had everything we needed and do the right thing at the right time.
I think they will be significantly useful during my future courses and projects at university, as the best way to improve your knowledge about banking and finance is through having a direct insight into the industry. The skills and information I acquired this week at JPMorgan will also be extremely helpful in future interviews for a job in the industry, while the connection I made and all the interesting and admirable people I met could help me at any time throughout my career path.
The Company
I think the structure of the insight was quite exceptional, as the overview presentations into different divisions were combined with interactive games and activities and networking events with various members of the JP community. This way, we got a chance to know the bank very well, as well as to know each other better and have individual conversations with people from the business we are interested in.
I have to say the atmosphere was a bit tense at times, since we knew we were being assessed the entire time and there was obvious competition between most of the candidates. However, this is also the purpose of the programme and really motivates you to give your best. The fact that both the HR team and the representatives from all divisions who interacted with us were always kind and helpful contributed a lot to the enjoyable atmosphere I felt at Winning Women.
Everyone made sure all the candidates were learning as much as possible and that they benefited a lot from this programme, so I think the company invested in us to a great extent.
It definitely helped in this sense, as all of our days were fully packed and constantly stimulating.
To a great extent as well, as we talked to members of different divisions and each one of them expressed their view on the culture and community at JP.
Very valuable, as not only we were presented what each division entails, but also what type of people and skills are suited for that business.
Everything Else
I was not paid or reimbursed, as I live in London and did not need JP to cover any of the costs.
Definitely, every day we had some sort of activity with this exact purpose and we interacted with people from absolutely every single division. I would say the most useful and entertaining one was the Careers Fair on Wednesday evening.
They were very helpful and well structured, even though it was quite hard at times to have an in-depth conversation with someone as there were a lot of candidates trying to network with a few JP employees.
Yes, and I would definitely be interested in joining NextGen and WIN.
Of course, I honestly think it is the best spring programme option, based on my experience and what I have heard from my friends.
