About You
I very much so enjoyed the insight day. All of the members of RBC that were involved in the day were particularly welcoming and friendly. This encouraged an enjoyable experience. Also the tour of the trading floor was very exciting!
We were valued in a 'professional' sense by the seniority of the managing directors that came to present to us directly and answer questions. Furthermore, we were valued in a 'hospitality' sense by having well-timed breaks and being given food/drink throughout.
The members of the HR team were very supporting as they accompanied us throughout all the sessions seamlessly. I never felt that I was not given sufficient support. All RBC employees were open to all types of questions we may have had.
The careers advice offered from the managing directors all the way through to the new graduates was invaluable as it provided a holistic view upon the sector, particular roles and the relevant required career path.
The Company
Given this was the second Insight Day of its kind run by RBC, it was impeccably structured with well-timed breaks.
Professional, welcoming and friendly. This encouraged questions and provided a warm atmosphere.
RBC invested in the delegates simply by holding an insight day such as this. However this was furthered by the providing of invaluable information from their employees as well as offering a fast-track to the assessment center for the summer scheme.
We were walked through many of the employees' day-to-day activities. We also had a graduate panel speak to us and tell us what it's like to be new in the firm.
One of, if not, the best cultures I've ever experienced in the sector. The general welcoming nature combined with the day's focus on teaching rather than testing was living proof.
Being provided presentations from Managing directors and Graduates from both Global Investment Banking and Global Markets has helped me immensely become more clear on my desired career path.
Everything Else
You are encouraged to reimburse travel expenses.
There was the opportunity to ask questions to all members of RBC involved in the day. Also, there was a networking session at the end to offer a slightly more informal setting to converse with the graduates.
The networking opportunity was great and was made even more so by being offered food & drink.
During the networking session and graduate panel we were informed of the usual work-life balance, this conversation answered any questions regarding outside of work activities.
Definitely, a superb insight day organised by an exciting Global Investment Bank.
