    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my insight. The days were packed with lots of different activities and many opportunities to network and learn all about the business which is exactly what I wanted to get out of the program. I would even go as far as to say it exceeded my expectations because of the wide range of events, skill sessions and insights.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • All of the staff members were more that welcoming. I never felt like I couldn't ask for help or advice and because of that I felt respected (so valued) within the company.

    4/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Throughout my insight I was given advice or the opportunity to ask for guidance at all times. This is especially thanks to the program leaders and our group project mentor who together created a network of people that I could talk to if I had any problem.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have learnt (and been given advice) in that I should make the most of University life and try to attend more events that will expose me to networking for good practice and also for using in the future. Not only this but I was able to meet people who gave me advice in how they got to where they are now and how I could possibly follow in their footsteps and become just as successful.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • I knew what i was doing at all times and was given an Agenda at the start of the week to avoid any confusion. All employees knew exactly what to do (including guest speakers). The whole program run very smoothly

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • There was such a positive atmosphere that really gave me an insight into how this business (J.P. Morgan) works and runs on a day-to-day basis. By this I mean that everybody was very approachable and I feel that I could approach them again if necessary in the future with further questions.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I was given the impression that the firm really did try to invest in me from the start and throughout the insight. Following this employees were keen and eager to encourage me to apply for a job after which of course would further improve my development.

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • I was given many hours of face time with current employees and this really helped me find just how much time would be spent or what responsibilities would be expected of me if I was to work at this firm.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The culture was very well explained and even compared (by several different people) to other places. I think the culture shock starts from when you first enter the building and you feel it running throughout the business.

    3/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • The events really helped me develop my understanding of what skills are desirable for different parts of the bank and this enabled me to decide on a future career path.

    4/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • I was reimbursed my expenses and was given accommodation to stay in which was well organised.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • There was a lot of opportunity and this was both formal and informal so gave a great overview of possible future networking opportunities.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • The events were again well organised. Everybody that I spoke to was able to describe clearly what it was that they do and answer any question without hesitation. The social events were also great to make friends (especially on the first day).

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Yes. Within one of the senior presentations we were given information on how employees interact as friends and as charities or foundations in order to improve relationships and the community.

    5/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Yes. If I had a friend who was considering the financial banking sector I would without doubt!
