About You
I thoroughly enjoyed the insight. I learned a lot about all the different divisions and met some very intersting and inspiring people. The programme was very well structured and allowed us to meet people from accross all the divisions and in different roles.
I felt very valued while at the firm. I was was given a project to do for the team which they have found very useful and they ecpressed how grateful they were for the work and time I'd spent doing it.
We had a lot of guidance and support throughout the insight. We were given a detailed handbook with lots of information about all the different divisions and what they do aswell as an agenda which we followed for the 2 weeks, where we had lots of talks and networking events organized for us.
The insight week has taught me a lot about the different financial markets. I've also learned a lot in terms of investment strategies etc, all of which I'll be able to use in my degree in Economics.
The Company
The programme was very well structured. We followed an agenda for the 2 weeks where lots of talks and networking events had been organised. Through these we were able to meet lots of people currently working at the firm as well as some of the other interns.
I felt very comfortable working in the office. Everyone was very friendly and happy to answer any questions I had. There is also a very strong work ethic at the firm which I noticed on the first day of the programme.
For out 2 week programme, each intern was assigned a "buddy" who we could go to with any questions we had about the firm etc. We also had one catch-up meeting a week with HR and one with our Champion/mentor to see how things were going and if there was anything we were concerned about.
We were able to meet lots of people working at the firm, so we were able to gain quite a good idea of what it would be like to have a full time role with the company. In out second week we also had quite a few hours on the desk so being surrounded by other people working on the team also gave a good insight into what it would be like.
It gave a very good insight the company culture. While working on the desk surrounded by the rest of the team you're working, you get a real sense of teamwork and you can see that everyone has a very strong work ethic.
Everything Else
I was paid.
Yes.
They were very well executed where a variety of food and srink was supplied. It was a great chance to get to meet other interns and current employees of the company.
Yes definitely. Its the perfect opportunity to get an insight into the industry and give you an idea as to whether you'd like to apply for a summer internship the following year where you could get more exposure to what it would be like to work in the industry on a daily basis.
