    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Working within the Integrated Retail Team at Disney was an incredible experience, the team is amazing! Working across two accounts - Amazon and Sainsbury's I've been able to develop both my academic and social skills.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Throughout my year at Disney i've never once felt like an 'Intern'. Not just within my team, but across the wider business all members of staff valued my opinion and was always given a great deal of responsibility.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Since arriving at Disney, I've always been encouraged to ask if help is needed and help is never too far away. Everyone right through from my line manager to my director have always been willing to support and guide me through the year. Away from work on a social level, my manager has always pushed me to network across various business functions and even arranged me to shadow various business functions to see whether it is something I'd be interested in going into in the future.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Being a 'shared resource' working across valued accounts like Amazon and Sainsbury's, I was inevitably busy. But never too busy that I've felt stressed, even at peak times - my workload was always closely managed by my team.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I don't believe I would have been given as much responsibility at any other company. Disney rely heavily on interns and it really shows - it's great! I have been given so many opportunities to work across several various business functions. This has allowed me to leave Disney with a clearer idea of what I'd like to do having graduated.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I've developed invaluable social and academic skills whilst on placement. These skills are most definitely transferable, my confidence has grown and I'm in a much better position going back to university and beyond.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere at Disney is as you would imagine - good fun! Although everyone is working hard, a joke is never far away in the team. The open plan office makes the ability to communicate a lot easier and in general the atmosphere is improved.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • As Disney every year take a host of placement students, they are well equipped on the organisation front. Regular meetings with my manager to ensure I'm happy etc. was very comforting.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Personal development objectives were set - this really helped drive my ambition and allowed me to stay focused on developing my skills. Which is a great investment of time, by my manager - weekly meetings checking progress on these objectives helped keep on track.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

    Sports and Social Club

    Company Parties/Events

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    Above 25 days holiday

    Travel loan

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Whilst Disney don't have any graduate jobs, I'm confident with the networking I've been able to do whilst at Disney, that I'm in a good position to land a job down the line at Disney, but if not most definitely will receive help in any applications by members of staff at Disney.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • A great social scene! Not only with fellow placement students but also colleagues. We go for drinks every Friday, even if it''s just for one. It helps keep morale up around the office and is great fun!

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Having lived in London for a while now, I've become used to the cost of living. It's the same wherever you are in London, if not cheaper than some parts of central London.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Being in London, never short of a pub or bar. Plenty around Hammersmith!

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Various sports and volunteering opportunities at Disney, whether it be football, rugby, netball etc.

    5/5
