The Role
I've enjoyed my placement very much, the atmosphere in the company is very welcoming and everyone is always willing to help you.
My team integrated me in all projects that are relevant to my work. Although sometimes interns would not participate in certain meetings, this is normal due to the large volume of people with higher positions attending them.
My manager was always willing to help and support me personally and professionally. They were very understanding and a pleasure to work with. Although we were quite busy at times the atmosphere in the team would always be good.m
Most weeks the generic workload isn't overwhelming, however ad-hoc requests may come in at various times. It also depended on the time of the month as to whether monthly reports had to be done.
I was in charge of my own work and responsible for finishing my work in time. I've never felt untrusted by my team and as the placement progressed, I had more tasks to do and felt even more integrated.
I'm not very sure yet as my placement is about to finish and I haven't yet started my last year of university. There are some skills that I may not use further in my studies (e.g. software) but there are also ones that I'm more than sure would become handy (e.g. Excel, data manipulation)
The Company
Lovely atmosphere and people, a pleasure to come to work every morning.
I haven't encountered any issues from the side of the company which was ready to welcome us from all points of view.
I was trained in the beginning of my placement, but also taught by my manager further skills as they were needed. So it is a continuous process on learning.

The company is great and I would love to return to it as it allows a great deal of flexibility.
The Culture
Yes, we would have intern nights out or lunches, there is a Facebook intern page where you can communicate with the rest of the interns in the company.
I didn't have to move in this area as I already lived in London, however, the cost of lunch (which is about the only expense I had in the area) seemed fair, with more expensive options as well as affordable and cheap places to grab lunch, a great variety !
I haven't experienced it but it is a connection point to the rest of London and quite popular.
Yes, volunteering as well as participating in sports clubs of the company. Further more there are always evenings organized with the fellow workers so you have the chance to socialize outside work.
