The Role
The internship was enjoyable, allowing me to gain a fantastic insight into many different businesses and the accounts they have.
Colleagues were all very friendly and made sure I had proper work to do. They were always happy to answer any questions I had, and appreciated the work I helped with.
We were given a line manager who was there whenever we needed them. They also set up several review meetings during the intership to assist us with what we were doing well and what could be improved upon.
Some days were very busy, with lots of different bits of work needing to be completed. Conversely, some days were not and I had to actively seek work to complete for colleagues.
I felt like I was given quite a lot of responsibility given that I had no experience in what I was doing. The tasks that I was given to do were the simplest part of the Audit process, but they trusted me complete them correctly and individually.
The skills I developed are currently helping me with the Finance side of my Masters degree, but i think the skills gained will be most valuable in the future when I hope to persue a career in accounting.
The Company
Most of the time was spent at client sites with Audit teams who were very friendly. The sparse amount of time spent in the actual office had an enjoyablle atmosphere too, with many colleagues checking how I was getting on.
Overall, it was very well organised as I always knew where I was expected to be and what I was expected to be doing.
The internship started with a 2-day induction course where we learnt a lot about KPMG and the work it caries out. Also, I felt that by sending us out to work at client sites with senior members of staff was a valuable investment in me, as I learnt so much.
Subsidised Canteen

Company Parties/Events
I got a graduate job with KPMG.
The Culture
Yes, all interns were frequently meeting up for events.
Quite expensive, but this is to be expected in London.
Lots of great bars and clubs to go to.
During the intership, we did a CSR painting a community centre. There was also many social events organised such as Dragon Boat racing.
