    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • The experience was thoroughly enjoyable! The atmosphere was highly conducive for both productive teamwork and enjoyment. There was a relaxed and inclusive atmosphere which encouraged an honest and supportive environment to develop. Evening activities were geared towards socialising with current members of the EY staff.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt highly valued as an individual on the course and my input helped to create tangible results. Working within and leading small teams on various exercises enabled me to feel valued.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • A high level of support and guidance was available during the EY Leadership Academy. The programme was geared towards supporting you develop as an individual in terms of your leadership capacity. Support came in many forms including: from team members, from your immediate supervisor (an EY member of staff overseeing your development) and the company running the programme. The advice I received was perceptive, relevant and useful.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills I developed will be directly applicable in my degree and university studies as a whole. Discussing the theories Leadership will certainly help in future university projects, assessment centres and societies.

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The EY Leadership Academy was very well structured and the days were clearly orientated between the different focuses.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Fantastic general atmosphere. The other people and staff were highly personable and great to work with. There was opportunities to have fun as well as develop practical skills.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The firm invested loads in my own development. Meals, 3 night accommodation, transport costs etc from a practical side and lots more in terms of development and skills.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • This insight was not designed to focus on the service lines at EY, although there were opportunities to network.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • I think this gave me a strong insight into company culture. The true ethos of the firm as fun and hard working really came through as the facilitators were able to focus you on challenging tasks during the day and have fun with you in the evening.

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • Very useful in terms of understanding culture, networking and getting a feel for your future colleagues. The purpose of the programme was not advertise service lines etc - something that was very refreshing!

  • All expenses were paid for.

  • A partner dinner was a fantastic way to network and meeting current employees.

  • The holistic outlook of EY was very apparent and there are wide ranging opportunities.
