About You
The programme was very informative. I got know the workings of each department much better and even got the opportunity to carry out case studies for each respective department.
The staff were very welcoming. The employees were keen to answer our questions, which showed that they appreciated our efforts to know more about the firm.
I received plenty of information on how the firm is run on a day-to-day basis. The hosts had employees come down to speak to us and also offer advice during case studies. Aside from the introduction to the different departments, there were skill sessions. For example, a session on presence and presenting and also one on interview skills.
As we had to do a few case studies and presentations during the event, I learnt how to work better in teams and also how to deal with unfamiliar situations. This is helpful when I am working in groups in the future. Also, the skills I learnt in the presence and presenting session will help me to deliver more effective presentations in the future.
The Company
The schedule printed on the handouts we received had errors. I felt that it was not very well structured. Although, I liked the flow of the events.
The atmosphere during the programme was relaxed and comfortable, but it had a professional feel, which is to my liking.
There were a few skills sessions. For example, a session on body language and presenting and also one on interview skills. The trainings offered were relevant and adequate given the length of the programme.
We had to do a case study for every different department of the firm. In addition, a few employees came in to offer advice and help us with our dedicated tasks. They also shared their experiences working in the firm which was very useful.
There wasn't a session on this. However, I got the sense of the company culture when speaking to the staff and also by observing how they interact with each other.
The event was very informative. There were adequate explanations on the responsibilities of the different service lines. I now know which department to apply to.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed expenses for travel. A night's stay was provided which enabled convenience for the two-day event.
Yes. Graduates and other senior employees were present during dinner on Day 1 of the event which enabled us to network with them and build connections.
Aside from opportunities to speak to employees during the event and also during dinner, as we had to do several group work, I spent quite some time working with the group I was assigned to and so, I got to know my team members better.
There was not a session dedicated to this. However, a couple of employees mentioned getting involved in activities irrelevant to their work.
Yes, I would.
