About You
It was a great experience! It was not just group challenges, but also informative presentations about JP Morgan line of business and preparation for interview and assessment centre. I feel more confident and met a lot of cool people!
A lot of emphasis is put on recruiting the best graduates and supporting their growth from day 1. We had mentors during challenges to guide us and everyone was interested in helping us make the most of our time with the company.
There were always senior staff happy to offer advice and pass on their technical knowledge. The program overall was really well organised.
It will assist me in my career, which I believe is more important than university. A lot of the new information is beyond the scope of my studies at uni.
The Company
Overall, I was surprised how many different things we got to do. There was a lot of sitting down at some points, which can be tiring and the workshadowing session was a bit short, but insightful! :)
Lots of fun, smart and enthusiastic people! It makes for a great week and new friends.
Informative booklets, presentations, experts panel for Q&A, tips for interviews and assessments are just the tip of the iceberg!
It was a surprise to learn about the variety of technologist roles available in a bank. The week also gave me a feel for the culture, which is what helps you make up your mind.
There is nothing better than talking to employees or workshadowing to understand the corporate culture of a company.
It's what made up my mind.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed.
Networking and getting to know each other was the running theme.
Would have been good to mingle in a less formal setting more, but otherwise the Q&A sessions were well thought out and the panelists were friendly and happy to answer our questions.
Under the impression that there isn't much time outside work ...
Yes! The worst thing that can happen is you come out knowing more than you did - whether you decide to apply this knowledge at JP Morgan in the future or not.
