About You
I really enjoyed the talent academy. We got lots of information about PwC and their different service lines and insight and talks from really interesting people that worked there.
I felt very valued. There was lots of chance for individual conversations with recruiters and current PwC employees. The talent academy was in Birmingham which was far away from me so difficult to get there on the day of the event but they organised a hotel for me for the night before in Birmingham to ensure I could get there.
We got alot of support. There was lots of chance to talk to current employees and we were given presentations and sessions to help us through the PwC interview process. We were also given all the current employability guides from PwC and were encouraged to contact any of the recruitment team if we had any questions and needed any further help.
One of the tasks of the 2 day talent academy was a group presentation which definitely developed my presentation and communication skills. There was also a networking session which was really good for developing my interpersonal skills since networking was something I'd never done before. After the talent academy I was given the chance to have a final interview for one of PwC's graduate schemes and have now secured a job with them and the information and skills I gained from the academy were definitely useful in helping me through the interview process
The Company
It was incredibly well structured. We were given a timetable on the first day that was stuck too throughout the whole academy. We had alot of different sessions and there was lots of breaks built in too.
The atmosphere was very good. There was lots of chance to get to know the other people attending the academy and we were encouraged to ask questions and put our ideas forwards alot during the session so it was a really nice, collaborative atmosphere.
The firm definitely invested in my personal training and development. All of the sessions at the talent academy were aimed at developing our skills such as a session on first impressions and personal presentation and were useful day to day, not just in the employment environment.
We were given presentations and information about working for the firm but also talks from and networking with current employees to get first hand information too. I was also invited to attend a PwC Women into Consulting lunch with current PwC employees which was even more useful in giving me first-hand knowledge of what working for PwC is like and to ask questions.
We were given presentations and information about working for the firm but also talks from and networking with current employees to get first hand information too.
The content was really valuable in helping me decide me future career path. It made me certain that I wanted to try gain a position within PwC to do Management Consulting and gave me the information and support to be able to gain a position on the graduate scheme.
Everything Else
My travel costs was reimbursed and accommodation and food was provided during the time at the Talent Academy
There was lots of opportunity for networking. We had chance to network with current employees before dinner and then during dinner they rotated round our tables so we got the chance to meet different employees. Different employees attended each day of the academy so we got lots of chance to meet PwC employees
Dinner was provided on both evenings and we were able to socialise with the Talent Academy team, current PwC staff and fellow attendees.
During presentations we were told about the activities employees can get involved in outside of work and were told first hand by their current employees during the networking.
It was a really fun and really valuable experience. I will definitely recommend it to a friend.
