About You
Amazing work culture, very supportive and engaging, the only downside was the organisation before the Spring Week, however since the day I came it was great, lovely campus, friendly people, learned a lot.
All expenses were covered, hotel was nice and they even extended coverage through the programme to make it easier for us with breakfast, felt really valued.
Support was available when needed, with good supporting materials and very friendly Early Careers team and the people I shadowed as well.
My school is quite strong on the soft skills (presentation, etc.) so I haven't learned anything new in that sense, however practice is always good. I've received valuable information about how the bank worked and the processes that happen inside that will concentrate my mind better on what is important for business in my further studies and that is valuable.
The Company
Great, some little tweaks could be improved in terms of structure, but overall there was nothing to complain about in that sense.
Really nice, loved the people on Spring Week and work culture in RBS is simply amazing, very supportive and open.
As expected, the most valuable development for me was understanding the different functions.
Could not have been better, I really can feel what it is like working in RBS.
Again to full extent, I was really surprised that people inside literally live for their values, call it their bank and want to improve so much. They were very honest about their mistakes.
Would be good to spend for time with your preferred function and have someone more senior here, however it still helped me a lot in deciding what to do.
Everything Else
It would have been better for us and cheaper for RBS to give us salary and manage all expenses ourselves rather than reimbursing them. The travel company was a pain, however RBS was really open and helpful in this sense.
Yes, almost always, even if you wanted to meet someone specific, they were helpful in arranging that.
Again really good, could talk to anyone I wanted.
Yes, however that could have been presented more, I found out because I was curious.
Yes definitelly.
