    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I think my year at HP has been great, I was able to develop & learn new skills. I was also able to identify my weak points and areas of improvement to make a better candidate for future positions.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I have integrated well with the team. Very welcoming and a friendly team, throughout my placement year I have never felt as an "intern" or "placement student". So this enabled me to enjoy my placement and get the most out of it.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • The management team which I work for is great, we have a great level of communication and I regularly ask for advice and feel they can give me great help. It's pretty much an "open door office" atmosphere which makes it easier to communicate with management without feeling that I am wasting their time. Aswell as this the guidance they provided me throughout the year, and the opportunities they allowed me to take on re-enforces their support and guidance.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • It was a very good balance between the both, as a sales support a lot of my work would come in the final 2 weeks of the month, and that would be very busy, however in the first 2 weeks it was a lot more relaxed and I would be able to catch up on emails,re-organise and prepare things for month end's

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I feel that I was given a fair amount of responsibility, throughout my year I always shown that I could be trusted. Given a good balance of working independently and team work would show a good level of trust and belief that I would be able to continue to my work without having to be shadowed all time.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have learned a number of skills which I will be able to take with me for final year, and for future business careers. I learned some weaknesses which I never thought I had and managed to turn some of my weaknesses into strengths..

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Everyone was busy in their own work. But if you need some help from them, then they were always ready to help you.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • There is alot of background work which many people don't see, in planning the whole year, welcoming the new interns and making sure they are stable within the first month.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I was able to take on a number of courses, attend a number of workshops, and take a chance to visit customer sites on some of the projects. This enabled me to feel how it's all done from the beginning of a sale and the delivery of that project.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • very month there is an intern night out which is planned by the committee, this enables to keep in touch with everyone and have a great time. And during the weekends a number of people meet up aswell.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Socialising when out with my team was as cheap as chips as it was all paid for by HP! socialising with other interns was cheap as well as Reading is a university town, and some good cheap places about.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Reading is good, close to Windsor and london for other good nights out. Just avoid Bracknell.
