About You
Valued the opportunity to stay in Bournemouth for a week. Liked the people I met among both the students and the professionals. It was also great to get a feel of the J.P. Morgan campus.
Everybody we got to meet was really nice and ready to help. All the J.P. Morgan employees were ready to give up some of their work time and ask any questions. Meritocracy could be felt throughout all the sessions.
There was always an opportunity to ask questions and the event was structured such that we got a feel of some of the sectors of Operations but not all of them. It would be more beneficial to have more of an overview of the department at the beginning.
I am hoping to work in the industry in future, so the information about processing of all operations will be useful background knowledge, I feel. However, the information is not directly related to my degree studies.
The Company
I liked that we got to participate in a variety of activities and had a misture of them every day.
Everybody was very friendly and welcoming. It was amazing to feel valued by the company and almost part of it despite not being an employee yet.
We had skill-building sessions and networking and I could see that employees were using their own time to give us information and to just speak to us. I feel the company invested a lot of time and resources into organising the program.
Meeting my buddy and having shadowing sessions wit her was a great experience. I appreciated her honesty and openness about both more or less technical work questions and work-life balance. This and other sessions gave me a good insight into what it is like to work at J.P. Morgan.
I feel that the company cares a lot about each and every employee and after all, this is what matters. There are plenty of opportunities and an overall atmosphere of cooperation and team work.
I got an overview of the department and met great representatives of the industry. The insight gave me a reassurance on the choice of my future career direction and further inspiration to work towards my goals.
Everything Else
All students got to stay in a great 4* hotel at the coast of the English Channel; everyday travel to and from the office was organised and paid for by J.P. Morgan and home-Bournemouth travel had to be booked for through a travel company and was paid for by the company.
Lots of various formal and informal networking opportunities. We had everything from panels of analysts and professionals to netwotrking in the office atrium and a bar in central Bournemouth.
Great. Had a chance to meet people in different positions and divisions in formal and informal set ups. Everyone was very open and welcoming questions and just there for a chat.
Yes, through chatting to them directly and through a talk by HR about all the community activities organised by the company for employees to participate in.
Yes, definitely, as long as their interests match with the jobs offered by the department.
