About You
Really good programme in general, gives you a bit of eveyrthing. Could have been a bit more focused on typical IBD though.
Barclays has a strong culture and really appreciate their colleagues. The collegiate atmosphere was emphasises by everyone I met during the programme, and I could feel that HR takes the Spring Week seriously.
The programme is very fast-paced so a basic knowledge of finance is advantageous.
Good insight into Barclays and the banking industry.
The Company
Could have offered more 1-on-1 work shadowing.
People are happy to be here, and employees and HR are happy that we are here. Good atmosphere.
They try to convert their Spring Interns and keep in touch with them. They invested a lot of time and resources into the Spring programme.
I definitely got a broader understanding but more work shadowing would have been beneficial.
A great deal. Barclays really emphasises their strong culture, with a collegiate and team driven business model.
Very useful to get a broad insight into all different parts of the bank. Seeing how many opportunities there are is very useful.
Everything Else
We were paid and reimbursed for our expenses.
There were networking events throughout the week. However, we were usually 5-6 interns talking to one employee at once. Barclays could benefit from having more exclusive networking events so you can get an honest one-on-one discussion.

Some employees I talked to mentioned different networks they were engaged in.
I recommend everyone thinking about commencing a career within banking to participate in a Spring Week.
