About You
I enjoyed it a lot as there was a whole range of activities offered to us, across different job functions in the bank.
I felt valued as there were strong support from the HR throughout the week. Many people across the divisions and seniority were also invited for the networking sessions.
There were a lot of support. Group activities had a Barclays representative in each team, which gave personal advice to a small group of students.
The information will definitely be helpful, and it will help me in my finance career ahead. The skills developed during the different group activities will also help me in my presentation and future work skills.
The Company
It was well structured, with the first 3 days focussing on banking, markets and PCB divisions respectively. The last 2 days focused more on work shadowing, which really gave us a good insight to what they do on a daily basis.
The atmosphere was kept very friendly and were very approachable.
They provided a good venue to host the presentations, and there were refreshments during the breaks.
It was a great insight, in particular the 2 work shadowing sessions, which allowed us to have a closer look on what the different jobs entail. These work shadowing sessions were also very personal, with up to 2 interns per Barclays representative.
It helped a lot. There was a presentation which showed us the values Barclays believed in, and the multiple networking sessions allowed us to talk to the different representatives on their experience in Barclays.
It was valuable as it exposed me to different job functions, which can help me decide on what I want to do in future.
Everything Else
I was paid.
Yes. There were multiple opportunities, from speed chats to a social session on Wednesday evening.
It was well organised, with a whole host of representatives from different teams.
Yes I do, through the more personal networking sessions that we involve in.
Yes definitely, as it really showed me how Barclays worked as a bank, and helped me make my future career decision.
