About You
Thoroughly enjoyed the spring insight week. Challenging, informative and fun. Met some very intelligent individuals and the rotational aspect of the spring programme provided a broad but in depth insight into the different divisions of Barclays.
Employees from all divisions and positions were friendly. They were all willing to help and answer any questions. Definitely felt as thought I was part of the firm.
Lots of guidance and support was given throughout the week and you had the scope to ask questions to get advice and support from others. Guidance on the primary skills required for each division was especially useful in helping me understand where I wanted to work in Barclays.
As a student of Economics, there is definitely some overlap between the banking industry and my course. In particular, the information I received will help me in my finance studies and the overview given of the different divisions has sparked my interest to research more into the different areas which I'm sure will help me further in my financial career.
The Company
Incredibly well structured. Each day there was a set timetable which was followed as closely as possible. Probably one of the greatest aspects of the spring week because you could prepare for each event in advance.
A friendly and collegiate atmosphere.
The spring week really looked to build upon my pre-existing knowledge of each of the divisions.
A good insight into the different divisions within Barclays, and the information provided within only a week provided a good sense of what it would be like to work for the firm.
Lots of information was provided on the culture of Barclays, but speaking with the employees really helped define my impression of the culture.
Incredibly useful. Helped me decide which divisions in Barclays I want to pursue.
Everything Else
I was paid along with reimbursement for travel costs.
Networking was possible throughout the week, but a dedicated networking evening was held in the middle of the week.
Very good. Employees from lots of divisions to speak to, enough time to speak to them, and good food!
Not really. You would have to ask employees specifically about their outside interests.
Definitely. Apply and make use of the opportunity. Incredible pathway and leg up into Banking.
