About You
It has been a great experience so far. The insight was well balanced between the actual insight into various areas of Barclays' Front Office and soft skill development. The people I have met at Barclays were very welcoming and thoroughly answered all the questions I had. We were also given numerous opportunities to meet people across the business, get to know other participants and the members of the recruitment team.
I would say I felt substantially valued during the course of the programme. It felt that the recruitment team and all the other Barclays' employees involved in the programme put an enormous amount of effort trying to throughly present various career paths available within Barclays and make us interested in the future career opportunities offered by the bank.
On the first day we were provided with the schedule for the rest of programme. The recruitment team was always there to answer all the questions we had. Besides this, the other participants of the programme were very responsive, they helped each other and shares their experiences.
I believe that the skills I developed and the information I received is more relevant to my future career rather than my degree studies. It perfectly complemented my current knowledge of the industry and helped me to make a more weighted decision regarding the career path I am willing to take.
The Company
The insight was well-structured. The participants had enough time to work on their presentation and prepare for their work-shadowing experience.
The general atmosphere was positive, however, some tension was created due to the fact that we were constantly assessed on our performance. Some participants found it harder than others and that, of course, slightly affected the general atmosphere.
Compared to other spring week I attended, Barclays stood out as the bank which invested the most time and effort to make our experience as valuable as possible. We had numerous opportunities to develop ourselves: case studies, presentations, networking sessions, team work and an assessment exercise.
Having met many people working at Barclays, I believe I have a sufficient understanding of what it would be like to work here and what the culture at Barclays is like.

Mentioned above.
Everything Else
I was paid and reimbursed traveling expenses.
We had a few speed networking sessions and one longer networking evening. There was also a plenty of opportunities to talk to people leading various sessions of the programme.

Yes. The employees told us about the opportunities to get involved in the recruitment process, training and development courses as well as some more casual events within various teams.
Certainly. I would also give an advice to be open minded and try to learn as much as possible about different areas of the bank.
