About You
Really great, got to do case studies and really have fun getting to know Barclays representatives and other people on the Spring Week in Business Functions, Front Office and Technology. Would love to have done more shadowing too.
They made things as easy as possible. All that you needed was provided. Great housing, travel expenses, food, water and work package. It was great to get involved but I definitely would encourage researching beforehand so that you can have all your questions answered as people are very friendly.
We had a HR recruiter sat in all of the sessions so we were constantly overseen and never lost. It was really well structured.
May prove useful when I do future professional qualifications, giving a wide understanding of the sector.
The Company
Plenty of time to network, to learn and to get to know everyone you met. I was surprised by how interesting I found other functions that I had perhaps not been especially attracted to upon joining the programme. I definitely can make a more informed decision about choice of application.
Everyone at Spring Week is there for the same reason as you so everyone get involved in challenges, case studies and presentations. You learn a lot just by interacting with other members on the team as people come from elsewhere in England and abroad to learn. You can also have a lot of fun in and around Canary Wharf .
- Work shadowing - Skills sessions - Functions spotlights - Networking with Graduates and Senior Staff
- We got to see some of the work people did and their environment - Got to hear about the wide variety of roles available
- At all times during the week Barclays Values were elucidate Respect Integrity Service Excellence Stewardship
It made me interested in even more areas interesting but I have a good idea of where I want to start my career.
Everything Else
I was paid and reimbursed.
- Network lesson - Network session (formal and they provide you with your own business cards) 2 hours - Speed-networking 45 minutes
A lot of Barclays representatives who were willing to answer questions and very encouraging.
- Graduate network - Networking - Training - Sports Clubs - Interest Clubs - Charitable Work - Internal initiatives E.g. diversity and leadership
Yes. Really good to learn and get fast-tracked to next year's internship track if you perform well.
