About You
I thoroughly enjoyed the Spring Insight Week. My peers and the Barclays employees were all fantastic. It was a well structured programme with loads of opportunities to learn and develop yourself.
Although I wasn't given any work substational value, the support and thought gone into the programme definitely made me feel valued. The number of senior staff that made time to meet and talk to us also helped in making me feel valued.
It was a very structured scheme with lots of support.
There was lots of skill development sessions improving our presentation, analysis and teamwork skills.
The Company
At the start of the week we were given a timetable that clearly set out the structure of the week.
The Barclays employees were extremely helpful, encouraging us to ask questions and maximise the amount of learning we gained during the week.
There were loads of skill development sessions that will help us in the future.
We had 3 work shadowing sessions that were extremely useful and a presentation from every division in Business Functions.
Barclays' values are massively important to the bank and so gaining an insight into how they are applied they to everyone banking was very useful.
The insight from the various different divisions definitely helped me narrow my preferences.
Everything Else
£250 plus all your travel expenses paid.
There were many networking events, both over drinks and speed networking sessions where senior management rotated between tables.
As it is in London there were plenty of social possibilities if you wanted to.
From talking to other employees.
I would definitely recommend this spring week to anyone interested in bank as the insight you gain and the skills you develop will help you when applying to summer internships.
