About You
I really enjoyed the insight because you really had a lot of opportunity to not only gain a better understanding of the division you want to go into but also other divisions where you may have a slight interest in.
I certainly felt that BAML had put in a lot of time and care into organising the insight week and the HR team was always happy to help to make the most of my time at the company. The employees who participated in the talks, networking and activities were all happy to help in answering questions.
We received a lot of guidance and support from the HR team.
It has helped me develop my networking and presentations stills. The information and contacts that I have made are invaluable. The experience has definitely given me a better idea of what I want to do in the future.
The Company
The insight was incredibly well structured
General atmosphere was fun. Everyone was eager to learn more but also really nice and easy to talk to.
BAML heavily invested in providing presentation skills training, various opportunities to network and gain a better understanding of the industry.
We had the opportunity to shadow people in the divisions we chose. And also the various networking opportunities allowed us to gain a better understanding of a typical day in the company.
The networking opportunities really helped with understanding the company culture. All the volunteers were really honest and open about their experiences.
The activities really help with giving you a bigger picture of what skills you would use in a certain division.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed for expenses, they were also really informative about the process.
There were a lot of opportunities for networking, there was at least one opportunity per day.
There were normal networking events where you had to work the room within the bank, but there were also networking opportunities in more informal settings and also a networking dinner which was, personally, the best networking opportunity I have been to so far.
We had talks from CSR and also a networking opportunity specifically for societies within the bank.
I would definitely recommend the insight to a friend, it has been the most informative event I have been to yet and the contacts that you make are invaluable.
