About You
The insight provided detail information on J.P. Morgan as well as what it would be like to work in the Tech division of Glasgow. It was only unfortunate that one of the speakers was not able to present on big data.
J.P. Morgan treated everyone well. Accommodation and travel was provided as well as lunch and a farewell quiz night.
My buddy Gaurav was fantastic and answered all my questions and even gave more detailed information on questions I hadn't thought about! HR: Rebecca, Jennifer and Eilidh were likewise also amazing. They organised the week very well and ensured the week ran smoothly. I also found the presenter for Agile extremely engaging and the mentors in the coding challenge extremely helpful!
I did not develop any new skills specifically for my academic studies but I developed a strong network of focused students and improved my knowledge on professional work hacks.
The Company
The insight was very well structured. There was a detailed guidebook provided on the first day and everything was timed extremely carefully by Rebecca. She even ensured we finished our days without going over the time scheduled in our guidebook!
Everyone was lovely. The week was a wonderful learning experience and the accommodation provided was also excellent.
A huge extent. Lots of tips on preparing for professional career/internships.
The insight was extremely helpful in providing an insight into the Technology division. However, I think more could have been improved on in the time provided for networking with firm employees, a slightly longer work shadowing schedule and perhaps insight into the other divisions at JP Morgan so as to better understand the business.
I learnt a lot about J.P. Morgan both the firm and founder... first class business!
Was very valuable for an insight into technology in a banking firm. However more could of perhaps been offered to understand the other divisions a better rather than segment it straight away.
Everything Else
We were provided the travel tickets to the office, accommodation for the duration (which included a great breakfast) and lunch.
There was an opportunity to meet recent graduates and a panel of employees. However I think more could have been done for a longer interaction session where we could have gotten to know the employees a bit better and had longer sessions to network.
Overall they were fantastic. The social events were great! We also got to meet people from the BRG (such as empowering women) but as mentioned before more free time could have been allocated for networking with employees (besides our mentors) to talk to them on a smaller group basis.
Yes.
