The Role
I really enjoyed it. I was given responsibilities from the very beginning and my colleagues were really welcoming.
I definitely felt like I was part of the team. Everyone treated me like a colleague rather than a student intern
I had a one-to-one with my line manager at the beginning and end of my internship. Would have appreciated more but he was a really busy man.
I had my day to day roles and also a project I had to work on in addition so I was relatively busy. I think it is a case of you get what you put in.
It started off a little limited but when you show that you can do it, you will get more
My internship definitely boosted my communication skills and confidence. I had to also manage my time well to ensure I met all the deadlines I had. It doesn't directly relate to my studies but there are a lot of transferable skills.
The Company
Everyone was really friendly. There was office banter
It was actually pretty well organised. We had tasks set out for just interns such as a business project, a volunteering day and we also had to plan a fundraiser event in addition to learning how a branch works. However, there were times where I felt they could have been more organised.
I had a lot of online training that I was required to complete. Other than that, I was able to visit two different branches for my business project so they firm definitely were happy to invest.

Above 25 days holiday
Very! I definitely want to work at HSBC but I am looking to go into a different role
The Culture
It was quite hard to get all of us together but i know those in London met up regularly.
I lived in my uni town so rent was already something I was paying and I could walk to work so it was good.
It is alright. It is a small town but i go to uni here so I am used to it.
There were a lot of opportunities for me to join those in London for events
