About You
Brilliant week overall! Lots of time for networking, work shadowing and experiencing different parts of the bank.
A lot of effort was put into the week. It felt like BAML invested a lot of time and resources in us.
Great support with a lot of flexibility to shadow employees outside of programme hours (e.g. early morning or late evening).
Heavy importance placed on networking - have learnt that the industry is more of a people business, than a technical one.
The Company
Brilliant structure, we had a basic timetable before the week. During the week, each day was outlined before we did anything.
Very friendly HR and Business employees. Everyone was willing to help you. Peer group were great too - met many people from various different backgrounds.
Very strong emphasis on investing in us. Many business people gave up their work time to speak with us and were very willing to help.
Great outline of daily life from Business representatives. Career progression was highlighted too and different pathways shown.
Gained a very good understanding of the BAML culture, seeing how many different backgrounds people come from. That's what I think differentiates BAML from other firms.
Helped me to decide on what area of Investment Banking I would like to work in. I would encourage everyone and anyone to apply for this!
Everything Else
Travel paid. Hotel given if needed.
A huge amount of networking opportunities (networking drinks, dinner, breakfast).
Very well organised. The first was a networking drinks at a bar, the second a dinner at a brilliant restaurant and the final was at the office for a breakfast session.
Yes, people were willing to share their personal interests - very sociable place to work at.
