About You
It gave a great introduction to the firm and its many divisions. Things that stand out are the social on the first evening and the work-shadowing. The other participants were also really easy going.
I think UBS went out of their way to really make us all feel welcome and even some of the senior people in the bank helped us a lot.
In terms of learning - think I learnt so much about the bank, industry, and global economy. For the future, I think UBS were really thoughtful to make us go through mock assessment centre style exercises.
I think rather than my degree, it will definitely help in future applications.
The Company
Was given a timetable few weeks in advance and a more detailed one on the first day. No delays and the insight was well structured.
Relaxed atmosphere that made most people not afraid to ask questions or approach anyone.
UBS did a practice presentation and several group exercises that are common in banking assessment centres.
I think the work-shadowing in particular really gave a great insight into what it would be like.
Everything Else
Flights and hotel were all covered.
There was a strong emphasis on networking and I probably e-mailed a lot of the staff I met.
