About You
I loved my time at J.P. Morgan and learnt a lot of things. Met loads of new and interesting people and talked about their roles in the company. At the end of the internship, I got the chance to interview for the next year's internship position.
I felt a lot valued during my time at the company. People from high positions delivered talks and took time out from their busy schedule to let us work shadow them. We were invited to networking drinks and were offered free drinks. We had talks from different divisions of the firm. Every day we were given an allowance to buy food too.
A lot. The company did invest a lot in us and it showed throughout the week. We had an agenda for everyday and it was quite enjoyable. HR team was all around us for any questions in the recruitment process. I work shadowed two teams who are heavily involved in technology at the company. It was quite insightful as it gave me a chance to see the work and make a choice is I come back for the internship.
Being a Spring Intern, I didn't get to work in the company so I wouldn't say I developed loads of skills. However by work shadowing, I am now certain of my choice and would take it back to university to develop on it. Also, meeting so many new people, I enhanced my inter-personal skills and got to know more about the business.
The Company
Really structured. We had an agenda for us and we followed to pretty well. A week is a long time when you're doing no actual work in the company and it's easy to get bored. But surprisingly I didn't get bored at all, it was so interesting and everyday was different. Meeting so many enthusiastic people did also helped.
Pretty good. As it's an investment bank, it has to be busy but it was enjoyable at the same time. We played few games to learn new things and code robots etc. It was fun, learning and challenging as there were assessors around us. But overall it was pretty fun and exciting. Would recommend everyone to give it a go and see how J.P. Morgan is.
The firm did invest a lot in us to make sure that we leave the company with a clear understanding of J.P. Morgan. They organised the event and had presentations from different lines of the business.
A lot. After the insight week I'm now certain which line of business I's like to join. It was primarily because of the work shadowing that I did. But not just that but we had few question and answer sessions. By attending those, we got chance to ask questions to the business representatives.
It did help a lot as I got the opportunity to meet loads of people. I saw the similarity between and realised what the culture is. It's about teamwork, collaboration, leadership and sense of giving back to the community. Everyone was calm, lively and handy to ask questions to.
It was incredibly helpful as I got hands on knowledge from the people who make the technology. I had an idea of how banking is but after this week, I know a lot more of what it is, skills necessary and things that it entails.
Everything Else
Yes there were many opportunities available.
Really good.
Yes loads.
Highly.
