  • A very insightful experience - loved every minute!

  • The company invested a lot of time and money into all of us. Employees were willing to take time out of their busy schedules just to have a chat.

  • Amazing support in all aspects - however information about the assessment centre was a little unclear.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Not so much for my degree, however, I went into the week with little/no knowledge of how an investment bank works but I came out feeling like I could set up my own.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Very well structured. Introduction, first division preference, second division preference, career fair/division choice and then assessment centre.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Great atmosphere. All the candidates were like-minded. All the employees had a smile. It was also great to see the atmosphere of the trading floor.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Internal talks from junior and senior employees. External talks from very interesting people. A lot of time from employees, especially those being shadowed.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • Very much! Shadowed several employees. Explored several floors (including trading floor). Talked to over 20 employees.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The culture of BAML is what sets it apart from other banks. It is so diverse and just generally 'human' that it would be a pleasure to work for.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • All the time. Many networking sessions, shadowing and even networking dinners.

  • Very insightful. Conversed with employees from all division and all positions.

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Explanations of activities were described by employees however, apart from the dinner, there was no actual experience of extra-curricular activities.
