About You
The week was an all-round enjoyable experience. I learnt a lot during the 5 days and made lots of new friends which was an added bonus. In every way I look at it, the week was a success for me and I am definitely happy I applied.
I 100% felt like HR and other members of the company wanted me to be there. Everyone was extremely kind from day 1 and I never felt like it was wrong to ask questions.
I was given everything I needed. Any questions I had were immediately answered and I now feel much more at ease with regards to selecting what career path I wish to choose. It was especially helpful being able to talk to so many people from the business - graduates and associates / VPs / EDs because I could get there opinion on their job.
As the week was just about the company and roles available, I am not returning to uni with any more knowledge related to my degree (languages), but I definitely feel like my career knowledge and pathway has been positively affected.
The Company
There was almost always something informative to be done. HR tried extremely hard to get it right and it is naturally quite difficult to please so many people at once. I believe they did extremely well and even if I did have an area to complain about, we gave feedback at the end of the week so you can be sure that they will be different in a positive way next year.
It was great - everyone was positive and ready to go when we started. All of my fellow interns were extremely friendly and helped eachother out. HR were really nice, and everyone in the offices was approachable which made the learning experience that bit easier and less daunting,
Despite the fact we didn't need to complete any tasks for the company, we were actually informed of techniques that the company uses to strengthen teams and create new ideas. I feel that the summer internships would contain much more training,
I definitely understand what it would be like as I was able to network with interns and more senior staff on a number of occasions. We were also told about the graduate program and so without a doubt, I know what I would be signing up for!
As explained before, everything was so well explained. I know the culture and would feel at ease actually working in the office. It all comes down to the same fact that everyone was so easy to approach and talk to.
I definitely feel as though I have a much better idea of where I want to work and would definitely consider working for JPM. There were lots of talks which helped us out.
Everything Else
Reimbursed and hotel paid.
There were a number of networking opportunities including networking drinks and shadowing which meant we could be informed all about what it is like working for the company.
Was a night out in a bar and also we were all friends by the end of the week so we could easily have gone out more if we so wished.
As mentioned, everyone was so open about their experiences and we were invited to ask as many questions as necessary so I feel like I have a good idea about everything the employees do outside of work including sport, volunteering.
100%!
