About You
The insight was extremely enjoyable. We were able to learn a lot about the company, the different lines of business and their operations.
I felt very valued during the time at the company. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful on our course as well as in the offices that we visited. If we needed help there would always be someone around to answer out queries.
There was a lot of guidance and support during the insight which included Q&A, information on the business and applications. We were able to ask questions about anything that was needed and no question was a stupid question.
The skills I developed during the insight were very useful and will definitely be used in my future career. There were team building activities which I had never done before which developed team work, communication and organisation skills etc.
The Company
The insight was well structured and we received a schedule at the beginning of the scheme. I would say that they could have spread things out a little better to vary the days but apart from that it was great.
The general atmosphere of the insight was relaxed. The JP Morgan employees reinforced that they wanted the insight to be fun and useful. Everyone was extremely friendly and we did some quite different things which contributed to the relaxed atmosphere.
They invested in our personal training and development a lot and it has been very much appreciated. A few high ranking employees took time out to talk to us, answer questions and tell us about what they do on a day-to-day basis. Everything was taken care of with regards to accommodation, travel and food which was also very good.
The insight was very useful to help me understand what it would be like to work in the firm and the area that I had applied to. Going round the offices and communal areas allowed me to get a feel for the atmosphere of the company. All the information we were given as well gave detailed descriptions about the activities we can get involved in and the different lines of business.
The insight allowed me to understand the company's culture and what the employees see for its future very well. The people who did talk told funny and interesting stories about JP Morgan and its commitments. It completely changed my view of the company culture and I now realise it is a friendly and approachable place to work.
The insight was very valuable to help me decide on my future career path. We had quite in depth talks about the areas we had applied to and how these relate to the wider operations of the business. This allowed us to gain a broad understanding of the different opportunities we have for our future career path.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed expenses for the scheme which included travel, food and accommodation.
Yes we had work shadowing sessions, Q&A and networking events which all helped us gain an understanding of the company and its operations. We also had a buddy during the scheme which allowed us to ask any questions we want and understand their day-to-day work.
The networking and social event opportunities were good. For two of the nights we had an evening out where there were current JP Morgan employees so we had plenty of time to network and ask them the questions that we wanted to.
During the information sessions they spoke about the opportunities available outside of work including travel and volunteering.
Yes, I would recommend this insight to a friend as it was enjoyable and useful.
