About You
I was given lots of work, and everyone seemed to know my name - all the HR staff, many of the layers in my department and even quite a few of the partners. They had clearly made an effort to do so and it suggests that the trainees are really looked after and given a lot of attention.
I always felt like there were, at any one time, several people I could ask for guidance for a given task I was doing. Whether that was my trainee 'buddy', my supervising associate, the associate whose office I was sat in, the graduate recruitment staff or other current trainees, support was always close at hand
Developed some research skills
The Company
Whole week was clearly timetabled and well organised
Challenging, stressful at times, friendly, competitive but in a healthy way, collegiate, open, welcoming.
The week itself was a big investment by the firm and I feel I developed a great deal.
I feel my role was as similar to the role of a trainee as possible, given my inexperience. I do feel I experienced a good representation of what it would be like to work there.
Ample opportunity to speak to many employees who spoke candidly and openly about the culture.
Very useful - I was given real work to do during the week which helped me decide if the career was for me
Everything Else
My pay for the week covered all my expenses with some money left over. The subsidised restaurant also enabled me to eat (really well!) for next to nothing all week in the office.
Yes, plenty, though a 'speed networking' session would have been really great
Well organised and good fun
Yes I asked the trainees about these and they told me about the various sports clubs, charity event etc that go on at the firm
Yes
