The Role
I had a fantastic year, gained a lot of experience and met a lot of new people.
I feel I produced a lot of valuble data that was useful to the company. I was treated like an adult and got on very well with all members of the departments I worked in.
I didn't have to worry if I had a problem as my supervisors were very helpful and provided support whenever it was needed.
The placement started off very slow with all the training needed but picked up and was I generally busy. There were a few periods where the work load was a bit lower, particularly when it was anounced that the site was closing down but this was out of my control.
I was given the amount of responsibility I expected as a student and was happy with that.
I gained a lot of skills that are definately very valuable and I am certain they will help in my future career.
The Company
Sometimes could be a bit quiet but we generally had good conversations.
Nothing negative I can say. Even with the closing down of the site it was all organised very well.
The company spent a lot of time training me (as long as I needed) and I also had a performance and development plan that was very useful.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
I enjoyed working for them and think it is a great company but because of the location I don't plan to go back.
The Culture
There was a lot of placement students within the company so there was lots of social things going on.
Being close to London I expected it to be expensive but was peasently surprised.
It wasn't the best place to be but as there were so many of us we had some fantastic nights out.
Nothing really that I was interested in but there were opportunities.
