About You
Short but insightful week into the firm's culture, work and offices. A highly enjoyable week with plenty of social opportunities!
I felt particularly valued in terms of the work I was able to carry out for my team (Disputes). I was treated like a trainee in terms of the work I was able to do.
Less of the constant supervision you find at some firms, and more 'learning by doing', which I really enjoy. Made to feel like a valued member of the team, and I could ask anyone in the department for help / advice whenever I wanted
Not so much in my degree, but certainly in my career choice. It is always a useful insight to go into law firms and be able to evaluate the way in which they work. My research skills have certainly improved throughout this past week.
The Company
A fully planned timetable including social events in the evenings.
Very busy in the firm itself, but everyone was nonetheless helpful and friendly. I felt welcome to be there as opposed to being a nuisance.
Personal Training, whilst not a key aim of the placement, was nonetheless enhanced by my extremely helpful supervisors, who took the time to explain deals and documents to me
Given the work of, and treated exactly like a trainee. Fantastic
The scheme lasted only a week, and it was therefore quite difficult to gain a full understanding of the culture, however what I saw and heard from trainees highlighted the collaborative, friendly culture in the office.
Less so on my career path, but It has given me a better feeling as to which kind of firm I want to pursue in the future.
Everything Else
Perfectly adequately
A networking event with the whole firm, lunch with partners and socials with trainees aside from day-to-day work.
Very relaxed; the firm encouraged people to be themselves and this came across
Whilst we were unable to visit the Pro-Bono centre, opportunities arose. My buddy played on the football time during my week there.
Certainly. A packed and insightful week into a global city law firm.
