About You
I thoroughly enjoyed the insight week, it was a fantastic experience working on a number of different tasks and learning more about life as a graduate at Savills.
I felt very valued and always felt like I was helping the team. The tasks I was asked to complete were always contributing towards the team effort and was not asked just to complete straight forward tasks or work that wouldn't have been used.
I received lots of guidance and support during the insight from my mentor and other staff members who were excellent at explaining everything thoroughly and offered help when required.
The week will greatly assist me in my studies and beyond, it was great to put the skills I had learned throughout my first year at university into practical scenarios. I also learnt a huge amount of new information during the week that will assist me greatly.
The Company
The insight was highly structured with a timetable in place that we received prior to the week, this included talks and networking events designed for us to learn more about the business as a whole and individual departments. Site visits with our mentors were also organised as part of our week.
The atmosphere during the week was great, everyone at the organisation was very friendly and willing to help/answer any questions about the company or on specific building surveying questions. Excellent networking events were also put on which helped us to meet other insight students and current graduates which helped to build a great atmosphere between the insight students and the graduates as well as enabling us to ask questions about the graduate schemes at Savills.
It was evident the amount Savills invests into its graduates, during the week several talks were arranged by my mentor and the company including a CPD talk on construction design and management regulations.
The whole week was a great opportunity to see what it would have been like to have a full time role with the company shadowing a graduate as well as a talk on graduate opportunities at Savills.
The insight was a great opportunity to understand the company culture which was evident immediately after starting the week.
I was confident before hand that this was the career path I wanted to follow and that was reaffirmed during this week.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed expenses.
Lots of brilliant networking events were put on for other insight students and current graduates to get to know more about life at Savills.
Excellent.
We were told about the extensive activities employees can get involved with outside of work.
It was a great experience and would highly recommend this insight.
