About You
The work experience was really enjoyable. I recieved a lot of exposure to the people and the work at the firm and it confirmed my desire to work at Taylor Wessing.
I felt valued and as if I was making a significant contribution during my placement. For example, a piece of work of mine was sent to a client which I wasn't expecting at all!
I recieved a lot of guidance from my "budddys" - they were both so helpful and really supported me throughout with all my tasks. I also had a supervisor who checked how my work was going and was willing to answer any questions I had.
As someone looking to start a legal career, the skills I learnt will be really helpful. The week at the firm gives you a really good indication of what working at a mid-size City law firm is like, and the kind of tasks you will be expected to complete as a trainee.
The Company
The work experience was really well structured. There were a number of presentations on the first day regarding the week to come. We also recieved booklets with timetables so we knew in advance if we had any meetings / presentations.
The atmosphere was great. Everyone that worked at Taylor Wessing was really friendly and approachable and the group of us on the work placement got along really well and had a lot of fun.
The firm invested a lot in terms of training and development - we received IT training and had access to many of the resources other employees at the firm did. We also completed work similar to that which trainees themselves would complete. We also received appraisals at the end of our placement from our supervisors and throughout from our "buddies".
The work experience gives a really good insight into what it would be like to work at the company.
The work experience gives a really good insight into the company culture.
Very valuable
Everything Else
I was paid £250 for the week.
There were a lot of opportunities for networking and meeting other employees - there were drinks with a number of employees attending and there was also an evening social event with trainees. There was also a lunch with partners in attendance as well as the opportunity to contact anyone by email and to meet up with them.
There were many networking and social opportunities, including an evening bowling with all work experience students and lots of trainees. There were networking drinks and at the end of the week a lunch with partners.
I was told about a number of trainee organised events, a women's football club, a sponsored cycle ride (I can't recall exactly where to-from) and potentially a yoga club being introduced, among many others!
Yes definately, I had a brilliant time and it was really insightful.
