About You
The cohort were full of like-minded students and it was a pleasure to meet them. The first day was very presentation heavy but this gave me a good understanding on the breadth of services KPMG offer and a solid insight into the roles I would be interested in being fast tracked for.
KPMG staff were very friendly and went above and beyond to ensure you learnt what you wanted and got a real insight into the firm itself. The company valued its Spring Interns very highly and wanted them to seriously consider a career with KPMG in the future.
There was always a member of staff that we would speak with if we had any queries.
The skills I developed from the 'business game' will put me in good stead for the future and any career path I choose to go down.
The Company
The first day was very presentation heavy, maybe this could be improved to include some variety to make this day more interactive as I feel that is when you learnt the most. The second day was very well structured and organised with the 'business game'.
The atmosphere was the best part of the insight day. The employees were very enthusiastic and as were the other students helpful and motivated which made it very easy to settle in and meet like-minded students.
I feel this is an area that could be improved, I didn't feel we received enough feedback on our to improve as a group. However the programme was an insight so I did not expect that.
The insight thoroughly answered the questions I had and gave me a very good insight into what a full time role with the company would be like.
The culture was very evident from the first moment. Everyone was friendly and wanted the firm to succeed which played as a shared interest for employees.
We were given good advice on what career path to take based on what we would enjoy doing.
Everything Else
Travel expenses up to £50 was reimbursed.
There was an informal networking session after the first day where we were able to meet and network with graduates.
I feel this day could have been improved with a greater variety of roles as majority of the students were interested in advisory and there were no advisory graduates at the session.
Yes there are societies on offer which were interesting.
Yes I would highly recommend this insight.
