About You
Very much so. The program included many interactive games sessions such as a quiz and interactive banking simulation.
Throughout the program is was made clear how important interns are to the company as a whole. This includes being the ones that help to change the values and bring about the change that RBS is looking for,
A sufficient amount, however as it was only a short period of time, much more was not needed.
I study Engineering, therefore the skills won't be of a huge use for my degree however it has provided an excellent holistic perspective on the UK banking industry.
The Company
Well structured. We were told about the day to day activities and the program ran smoothly and on time.
Could have been better. The atmosphere was could have been more stimulating. This could have been done by constantly having employees attending all the sessions. The job shadowing was good as it provided an insight into the atmosphere at each department.
The program was short. Therefore it is not possible to conduct detailed training programs however the company did make an effort to bring in external speakers etc to provide some lessons on soft skills.
The job shadowing provided an excellent opportunity to ask graduates about their roles etc, And we therefore were able to get an excellent insight into what new joiners do in the first few months.
RBS made a spectacular effort to stress the new values and how they are integrated within the company. This was echoed by employees on job shadowing and at networking events.
Very good, it allowed me to better understand what the company is about at what private banking is about.
Everything Else
I have yet to await confirmation of this.
Plenty. Networking and meeting of other employees was a core part of the program. Therefore I have made many good contacts on the program.

Yes, The program actually included an example CSR class where I traveled along with other interns to East London to help disadvantaged students build their interview skills
Yes, It provides an excellent insight into private banking, RBS and the UK banking market as a whole.
