The Role
I had a great time working at GSK, there was a great team spirit and I was glad to realise I would actually spend nearly all of my time in the lab working on my own targets.
This was really good. There was plenty of time given to write my report for university and my whole team were eager to help with this. I experienced a site closure, and there was good support in place for transferring the students.
I learnt so much, lots of chemistry but I think I value the transferrable skills like presentation skills and working in a team, and just being in a professional environment. These things you cannot get from staying at university.
The Company
People were busy and got on with the job, but coffee breaks were regular and always a laugh!
They taught me enoug to carry out my role and being value to the projects I worked on. I could enrole for additional courses if I desired.
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Purely based on the fact that my first department were all made redundant during my placement, I do not see a career with GSK in my future.
The Culture
Everyone got on really well, there were students from France and India which brought an interesting international dynamic. 10 of us have just had a reunion and spent a weekend together.
