The Role
Worked really well with the mentor and working on placement let me develop my nursing skills which i wouldnt be able to do in university.
Felt part of a team but sometimes looked upon as more of a health care assistant instead of a student willing to learn
Always helping for support and to offer guidance
the ward was always busy so some days we were lucky to have a break but we never got the chance to sit down for 5minutes.
staff trust us a lot with nature of the job, and sometimes it can be very seroius responsability which makes me feel valued
without being on placement i wouldnt be able to learn the essesntial skills. because you learn the priciples in university but its completely different out on placement with different scenorios.
The Company
Sometimes it can become bitchy between staff, and at first not all staff are welcoming but after a few weeks becomes nicer atmosphere
very well organised
training for my degree so i can eventually get nursing qualification
National Travel
The Culture
very high, with only half student loan offerened to all nhs degree students and a minimal bursary for the hours we worked.
was rather rough at night
we werent involved with any staff night outs
