The Role
fully enjoyed it as i learnt so much and i feel i have become more confident in my abilities.
staff are mainly lovely, very welcoming and friendle and are happy to answer questions. every now and then you can come across some one where your personalities clash but this can happen anywhere in any job
very supportive, by giving documentation and leaflets to help me understand whats happening on the ward and to explain the scientific side of it, always very approacable and happy to help when they could
ward are mainly always busy so the day goes fast and you learn a lot! on the otherhand it can be too busy at times with understaffing.
the mentors are brilliant and determin how much responsibility to give someone individually so there is always the support but you dont feel out of your own depth.
as well as all the clinical skills that i am learning, which are essential for me as i am wanting to be a nurse, i am gaining better experience in interpersonal skills and people skills which are universal and will help me thoughout my life. It also gives a whole new outlook on life and makes you put things into prespective.
The Company
It was diferent everyday, dependant on what there was to be done that day. You have great times and sad times which all come with the job. theres lots of support though so you never feel alone and are always part of the part
Theres always quality improvements taking place to raise the standered of care that is given but on a whole everyone knows what they should be doing and have there own roles. there is legistration and guidelines to promote this and on a whole they are followed.
Time. although there is no finacial reward for the placement there is a skill and experience reward. the student is giving a helping hand and in return the mentor is teaching and showing the student new things so it balances out.
Healthcare/Dental
unknown in the curent financial and economic climate, as with all jobs but hopefully as this is a large company the chances are not too bad.
The Culture
everyone gets along some wards beter than others. some are like families and see each other out of work as much as in work, othere like to keep personal and proffesional lives separate. it just depends on the person. everyone likes to have a laugh tho!
depends where and what you want to do, liverpool is a big place which has things to suit everybodys style and budjet.
lots to do!! :D wether it be cinema, dining out, bars, clubs, sports ect. theres plenty to do its just having the time!
yup take your pick
