About You
Discovery EY is a 2 day programme learning more about the Assurance and Tax service line as well as what it is like working in EY. The sessions were informative, and had a mix of hands on activities which were fun and enhanced and learning process. It was also a chance to get to know new people, and networking over dinner at Gaucho's was absolutely lovely.
Every candidate was treated very well. Employees from partners to summer interns came to spend time and share their experience with the candidates. Meals were provided and the highlight would be the networking dinner at Gaucho's. Accommodation was also provided and travelling expenses were reimbursed.
Pretty much all the time. The sessions were informative and when we were given any task, clear instructions and constructive feedback was provided.D
During the client project work, I learnt about communication, presentation and teamwork. These skills will definitely help me in any group projects I will have during my degree studies. Information received during the programme also provided clarity in helping my make my career choices., such as choosing between Assurance or Tax.
The Company
It started with icebreakers, followed by information sessions, and then hands on activities. It was well structured and there is a good mix of activities.
It was relaxing and pleasant. The people at EY are very friendly and helpful, and always more than happy to answer any questions that you may have about EY and its service lines.
EY helped identify and reaffirm my working style, and had activities that helped to develop skills that are involved in any group projects.
One think for sure is that the working environment would be positive, the people at EY are friendly, supportive and it does not feel hierarchical. They were also very transparent about the work load and working hours of a typical employee.
Quite a bit. I understand that human resource is very important for EY, and they invest heavily in their people. The working environment is open, and nobody has their own office or cubicle in their 1 More London Place office.
They are valuable in terms of picking between their Assurance or Tax service lines. We were informed before applying, and we get what we expected.
Everything Else
I was fully reimbursed and accommodation was provided. Very satisfactory.
Yes, we had Q&A sessions after every talk and even had a panel Q&A with about 10 employees from different service lines, experience and background. There was also the networking dinner at Gaucho's.
Very good, but the music was a bit too loud at Gaucho's. I had to lean in close to be able to listen and I was almost shouting trying to speak to the person sitting opposite of me.
I find out that they have training days and get to go for retreats overseas. EY is also supportive towards their employee being involved in voluntary work.
Yes, definitely. You get to learn and experience, and a fast track to their summer internship programme or industrial placement programme the following year.
