About You
The programme was very useful and I am glad I had the opportunity to meet so many other students and members of staff.
Members of staff were very helpful and always happy to answer any questions I had.
The programme was very organised and we always had a member of staff present to ask anything.
On the first day, we listened to both recent graduates and senior managers/partners talk about their roles and the graduate pathways open to us. We were also able to network with graduates in the evening. On the second day, we were able to develop team working and presentation skills through the use of a case study. This was a good way of getting to know the other students on the programme.
The Company
There was a clear agenda for both days, one being more informative and the other being more practical.
It was generally a relaxed atmosphere and everybody was very friendly.
We had two talks on the first day, the first about building client relationships and the second about commercial awareness, they were both useful.
There were several opportunities to ask graduates about their jobs and what they involved. I now have a much clearer picture about all three of KPMG's functions which allowed me to make a more informed decision about my future.
We were told about the various societies KPMG have and how big they are.
Extremely useful - it gave me a much clearer picture of not only the key differences between each function but also the differences within each function e.g. corporate tax and indirect tax.
Everything Else
We were reimbursed up to £50 for travel expenses.
Yes, there was a specific event on the first day for this.
We were given several chances to interact with the other students on the programme and to meet graduates on the two days.
As we did not have that long to talk to employees, I mostly asked questions about their jobs and not as much about the opportunities outside of work.
Yes, the programme has helped me decide on my future career path and they also fast track you onto the Summer Vacation Scheme for the following year (there is just a telephone interview following the programme which determines whether you get an offer).
