About You
I thoroughly enjoyed the week. It was fun, insightful and informative. There were lots of different activities and a varied timetable.
We were treated as if we were new employees, and the recruitment team always sought to understand our background and where we would fit into the bank.
A very useful handbook, lots of support and always people to answer questions.
Work shadowing showed me where I will be able to apply my skills.
The Company
Very well; good variety of activities and lots of breaks/networking sessions.
All the other Spring Interns were willing to share their knowledge, advice and experiences and no one was trying to promote themselves or 'eliminate the competition'. It was a very open, healthy and supportive environment.
A great deal of time spent helping with all my queries, several people went out of their way to arrange additional work shadowing/networking with other areas of the bank.
A great deal. Lots of work shadowing and meeting people from all different levels gave a good insight.
A lot. The only way to understand the culture of a company is to go and visit. From speaking to various people and the way in which people presented themselves I got a brilliant insight.
I gained an insight into how many different roles there are withing each 'division' alone which was incredibly useful.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed for all travel expenses and provided accommodation as I live outside London.
Loads. Every morning over breakfast, at lunch, at the 'careers fair', during drinks and at the dinner. Loads!
Very open, relaxed and a good chance to ask questions; everyone made it clear there were no 'stupid' questions and everyone was very happy to speak to us.
At the Corporate Social Responsibility presentation we gained an insight into the various ways the bank gets involved in developing the local community.
Definitely.
