The Role
I have enjoyed my placement immensely, coming in to work everyday has been a joy. Working with Disney has not only provided me an amazing employment position but an opportunity to make long lasting friendships with some amazing people.
The structure at Walt Disney encourages teamwork and personal development - myself and my colleagues are very supportive of each other.
I have regular one-to-one sessions with my managers where I am offered any support as necessary.
In my particular position I have been very busy, with each day providing new challenges. I am a part of many projects and feel that the time I spend each day is valuable to the team and the project.
I have been afforded a great deal of responsibility, owing partly to my background as well as my skills. There have been projects where I have been lucky enough to take a lead role, being responsible for not only the projects success, but the satisfaction of the users and customers each project affects.
The exposure to different roles and departments will be invaluable. Aside from my role as business analyst I have worked as a project manager, delivered presentations, facilitated workshops and also provided high level communication.
The Company
The atmosphere is collaborative and supportive. Teams are made up of very intelligent, savvy individuals with a great sense of humour to boot.
The initial setup is well organised and efficient. From my own personal experience, once I knew my role I was able to manage my own time and responsibilities.
The placement itself has provided constant opportunities to develop skills, there have also been opportunities to attend courses and exhibitions relevant to the business.
Very! I would happily return to the company.
The Culture
There are many placement students in the company, for the most part they are able to socialise initially and make new friends.
The area is London. Need I say more.
Around the company building itself there is a friendly atmosphere and lots of nice pubs around the river.
People at work often set up activities for those who are interested in trying new things.
