    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • Meeting the other participants and members of the firm was by far the most enjoyable aspect of the programme. It was extremely useful hearing about the different definitions and an invaluable insight, although sometimes listening to a few hours of presentations in a row without a break was quite difficult. I felt like the week could have been better balanced between presentations and other activities as some days we had mainly presentations and others were mainly networking and team based interactive activities.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt valued to the extent that no one seemed to busy to answer a question and was impressed with the ratio of participants to members of the firm at networking events.

    4/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • We had to complete a challenging case study and unfortunately our mentor was rarely present compared to other groups.

    3/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Presentations skills were definitely developed, as well as invaluable networking skills.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The programme was very structured with activities planned out for about ten hours of the day.

    4/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Very exciting, if a little competitive at times due to the fast track opportunity at the end of the week.

    4/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We were provided with mentors who assisted us in developing our presentation skills. We were given a plethora of opportunities to network and speak with members of the firm.

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • The case study proved useful in this respect, but without being able to fully shadow a worker it was difficult to get a complete idea of what working in the firm would be like.

    3/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Speaking to representatives from the firm definitely helped me have an idea of what the company culture is like.

    4/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • The content of the week didn't dramatically changed my career ideas, but definitely gave me much more information on which to base my decision!

    5/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • We were reimbursed.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • There were multiple opportunities each day to network.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • The networking events were fantastic, although it would have been good to be able to hear slightly more from other areas of the firm, despite being on the IB and Risk programme.

    4/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • We heard a lot about the graduate training programme in New York, but not much about any other aspect.

    3/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Definitely.
