About You
I really enjoyed the opportunity given, especially because I knew that my input was valued and that it would help the future of certain parts of the business. Also, I experienced work shadowing sessions with various business units and I further developed the understanding of how the business comes together. Furthermore, understanding the diversity of skills and opinions people bring and their inclusion, I think that made Goldman stand out for me; especially having been part of a similar programme an year before.
It is very important to have your time and ideas valued from such an early start in your career, and especially that we were treated as normal employees.
Guidance was given every step of the way, and the information shared made the internship run as smooth and organised as possible, and enjoyable every step of the way.
The diversity of sessions organised, from interpersonal skills to tech and finance insights, enhanced everything that I knew and will definetely prove to be useful on the long term in my career; especially that I am interested in a career in this business.
The Company
Everything was well planned, and we knew at any point in time what to expect from our schedule. It felt natural and well thought.
It was an incredible professional opportunity to meet like minded students, and my networking worth has definitely increased.
Interns are viewed as the future of the company, and especially having such a strong culture that puts great value on potential and development; I think that the company invested a lot in me and after completing the programme I see different aspects that I might not have been aware of before.
I experienced the long working hours, but when you enjoy what you do you are not aware of it. I witnessed long term career paths and choices from different senior people in the company, and I understand the extend of the problems technology deals with within the business.
Received an excellent insight while work shadowing and networking. I completely understand the diversity and inclusion of people and I think that on the long term I see such potential in myself as well. I felt part of something greater and more important than me.
Witnessing different technology components that make the business work, made me compile a list of the parts I would like to be involved in and that would be most suitable to me. Great insight into identifying your unique path.
Everything Else
I was paid, received accommodation throughout the programme and was reimbursed travel expenses to and from the programme.
There were opportunities set out for us every day, having a chance to interact with people across career paths, from recent graduates to more senior positions.
They were very well organised and the diversity of people that signed up for them made it even more interesting.
Found out about the various networks that exist within the company and the different activities they organise.
The general positive experience I had and the range of things learnt encourages me to recommend the programme to friends.
